Add Approximately:
1/4 teaspoon to apple pie
1/2 teaspoon to stewed fruit
1 3/4 teaspoon pumpkin pie or cookies
1/2 teaspoon to baked custard
1/2 teaspoon to rice pudding or bread pudding
 
Try sprinkling on eggnog, hot cider, or for a real change, in hot orange juice - better than you'd think!
 
Nutmeg: A large evergreen tree, native to Indonesia and the Phillipines, bears a yellow plum-like fruit. Inside the fruit is a red casing, which when dried is mace; within this casing lines the nutmeg.
 
Nutmeg in large quantities is poisonous and added to alcoholic drinks, increases their effect.
